Dr. Matthew R. Byarlay
Matthew R. Byarlay, DDS, MS, is board-certified in periodontology and dental implant surgery by the American Board of Periodontology. He is an Associate Professor and the Director of Graduate Periodontics at the UNMC College of Dentistry.
Dr. Byarlay received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996 and his DDS degree summa cum laude from the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School in San Antonio in 2001. He completed his periodontal residency at the UNMC College of Dentistry in 2004, earning a Master of Science in Oral Biology and a Certificate in Periodontology.
He is a clinical instructor in the Graduate Periodontics and Implant Clinics and the VA Dental Clinic. He is the director of the surgical dental implant and guided bone regeneration courses for graduate students.
Dr. Byarlay maintains a part-time private practice at University Dental Associates, where he specializes in treating all forms of periodontal disease, soft and hard tissue grafting, dental implant therapy, extractions, biopsies, uncovering impacted teeth for orthodontic purposes, and offers IV sedation.
